Run 1063. Squat & Sushi’s eco-run from Planning House

Dear hashers and harriettes,

ONH3 invites you to Sushi and Squat’s Eco-run. Don’t leave your trash at home, bring it. Pay your run fee in trash and motor oil!

1 liter of used engine oil =  50KES

1kg of solid waste = 10 KES

Any waste is fine except for rubber, glass, metal, electronics or organic waste.

The community cooker is a locally designed award-winning cooking facility that burns trash and motor oil to reduce rubbish, create heat for cooking and boiling water and create income-generating events for community-based organizations.    Winner of the ‘Most Socially Responsible Design of the Year Award’ (2012)  https://communitycooker-foundation.org/  Cookers are currently operational in eleven different communities.

Time:5:45 PM (registration starts at 5PM)

Beers: 200 Ksh

Venue: Community Cooker at the Planning House on Lower Kabete.  A couple hundred meters before Zen Garden.  Look for a sign that says ‘Planning House’.  https://goo.gl/maps/vu1ppWuupsywW1Fx7

We have increased our registration fee to 700/- Ksh (run, hold drinks and dinner included).

Directions

From Waiyaki Way take the exit at Brookside and drive back to Sarit Centre to continue towards Westgate. Do not take a left onto Lower Kabete because the road is blocked at the Brookside roundabout. Turn left at the Westgate roundabout (Mwanzi road) and continue onto Lower Kabete under the bypass. From the underpass look for a sign that says Planning House on your right (about 350 meters).

If you take the Westlands Link Bypass coming from Waiyaki Way please note that there is no exit on Lower Kabete. You will have to continue to Kitisuru or Peponi Road and turn back onto the bypass from there.
